Our Journey

Our story at OLi is a narrative of inspiration, collaboration, and a vision to transform the accounting and bookkeeping practice in the Philippines. It all began with a vision nurtured by John Tano while pursuing his Executive MBA at the Asian Institute of Management sometime July 2023. As a CPA with an entrepreneurial spirit, John encountered the everyday struggles of his bookkeeper, and recognized the broader challenges faced by accounting professionals across the Philippines. Determined to create a change, John envisioned OLi—a cloud-based practice management platform designed to streamline projects and tasks, effectively manage clients, and secure sensitive financial information.

The journey of OLi took a significant turn when John was joined by Louie Castro, who is an alumnus of the Asian Institute of Management. Sharing John’s passion and understanding of the industry, Louie brought invaluable insight and experience to the venture. The team was soon bolstered by the addition of two tech co-founders, best friends, Vincent Castro and Joshua Cuenza, with impressive backgrounds in startup innovation, who were instrumental in translating OLi’s vision into a technological reality. Their combined expertise set the stage for a platform that would not just meet but exceed the needs of accountants, bookkeepers, and accounting firms.

Development of OLi commenced in mid-August 2023, with the team working tirelessly to create a product that embodied their shared vision of intuitive design and comprehensive functionality. This period of intense development was fueled by the support of our first angel investor, a fellow AIM alumnus from the Master of Entrepreneurship program, Jason Li, whose early belief in our mission provided the momentum we needed. On November 15, 2023, the dedication and collaboration of this diverse and talented team came to fruition with the launch of OLi’s Version 1. This milestone marked not only the realization of a easy-to-use and secure platform but also the beginning of a new chapter in Philippine accounting. With OLi, we invite you to join us on this ongoing journey of innovation, as we continue to shape the future of accounting practice management.

John Tano

CEO & Founder

John's finance and accounting expertise comes from prominent roles at Deloitte and KPMG.  John is pursuing an Executive MBA at the Asian Institute of Management and has a Bachelor of  Science in Accountancy from Ateneo de Davao University. His vision for OLi is to simplify and  optimize business processes of professionals and businesses.

Vince Castro

CTO & Co-founder

Vince leverages his experiences as CTO in his previous companies ensuring that OLi's platforms are both innovative and reliable. Vince studied at FEU Institute of Technology.

Josh Cuenza

CA & Co-founder

Josh’s full-stack and mobile programming experience at Accenture and Google has helped build OLi's powerful platform. Josh studied at St. Louis University.

Louie Castro

COO & Co-founder

Louie’s combined operations and business skills make him an operational master who handles  COO duties well. He's an Asian Institute of Management alum and Thames International  Business School graduate.

Our Dev Team is the engine that powers OLi’s innovation. Leading the charge in design is Nathaniel Ribada, our UI/UX Designer, who is all about creating a seamless and engaging user experience. His designs aren’t just about looks; they’re about making every click and swipe intuitive for our users. Zac Bravo, our Creatives Manager, ensures that OLi’s aesthetic appeal is top-notch, combining creativity with functionality.

Stephen Juridico, our Senior Mobile Developer, brings OLi’s features to life on your smartphones, ensuring accessibility on the go. His expertise in mobile development ensures that our users have a smooth and efficient experience. Recto Arieta I, our DevOps Engineer, keeps our systems robust and our deployments smooth. He’s the wizard behind the curtain, orchestrating the seamless flow between software development and IT operations.

Louisa Cuenza, our Front-End Developer, breathes life into our user interfaces, ensuring that the OLi platform is not only functional but also visually appealing and user-friendly. Angelie Guzman, our Marketing expert, spreads the word about OLi, ensuring that our innovative platform reaches the right audience and makes a significant impact.
